Base Directory
File path used as the first part of all system paths.
Batch Correspondence
A way to generate correspondence: the application uses a pre-defined schedule to generate correspondence, usually many at once. The user is not involved at all. Batch correspondence is also called system correspondence.
Bookmark
A placeholder in a template where the application inserts data.
Correspondence
The term for any communication from the application to an external party.
Entity
S3 file that contains XML properties for queries, methods, column properties, object properties, parent/child relationships, field constraints, rules, etc.
Entity Attributes
Displays the objects you can use to configure the object you have open (or are creating) in S3.
Entity Field
Displays the entity from which you can select and add the fields.
Exclusive Bookmark
A bookmark that ignores the body if conditions do not support including it.
Field Bookmark
A bookmark that inserts a database column value.
Online Correspondence
A way to generate correspondence: the user clicks a Correspondence button on the screen that contains the correspondence they want to generate, selects the desired correspondence, fills out any fields, and generates the correspondence. They may subsequently edit/print/index the generated correspondence. Online correspondence is also called user correspondence.
Query Bookmark
A bookmark that insert data entered by the user prior to generating the correspondence.
Repeater Control Bookmark
A bookmark that inserts a table of database column values. It displays the records just like a grid, but individually in a list view.
Standard Bookmark
A bookmark that is defined in the application project settings. This kind of bookmark never needs to be mapped in any template.
System Correspondence

System Path
A relative path that appends to the Base Directory to define the location of application files, such as correspondence templates.
Table Bookmark
A bookmark that inserts a table of database column values.
Template
A Word document containing bookmarks that the application uses to generate correspondence, whether batch or online.
Template Bookmark
A Word document containing bookmarks that the application users to generate correspondence, whether batch or online.
User Correspondence
See online correspondence.
Visible Rule Bookmark
This bookmark checks the rule for a defined value and if it finds that value, it includes the text that follows the bookmark. If the rule evaluates to false, the application goes to the Else statement and includes that text instead.
