Communication Template Maintenance Screen Controls

  

Template Code

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Name of the template.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.
  • Other notes: This has to match the file name of the Word template.



Template Description

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Categorizes communications so they can be organized.
  • How to use it: The application populates this field with whatever was selected on the lookup screen when the template was created.
  • Other notes: By default, this is Detailed Communication. This type is for longer correspondences that are printed.



Override Recipient Delivery Preference

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: If checked, the system will always use the Delivery Method for the template to deliver it, regardless of the recipient's recorded preference on the relevant business record.
  • How to use it: Click to check or uncheck.



Delivery Method

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Determines what the application does to deliver the communication to the recipient.
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.



ECM Document Class

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Maps the template to the ECM configuration file to be used to index the generated communication.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Notification Prefix

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Defined lead-in to the Notification Subject.
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.



Notification Message

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Message the application sends the recipient when it delivers the template.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Generated By

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Determines whether the correspondence can be generated via batch or online, or both.
  • How to use it: Click to check or uncheck.



Template Name

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Descriptive name of the template. The application uses the Template Name to refer to the template record on some other screens.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Template Category

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Property the application uses to keep templates organized. 
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.
  • Other notes: The default categories are Person and Organization.



Status

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: If the status is active, the correspondence will be available from the launch screens. Otherwise, it won't.
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.



Communication Category

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Defines the type of communication the template is for the purposes of setting a delivery preference.
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.



Default Printer

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Printer the communication will be printed with unless overridden.
  • How to use it: Select from the drop down.

ECM Document Type

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Maps the template to the ECM configuration file to be used to index the generated communication.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Notification Subject

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Subject of the message the application sends the recipient.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Allow Image Indexing to ECM

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: If checked, the application will image communication generated with this template to ECM. Otherwise, it won't.
  • How to use it: Click to check or uncheck.



Launch Screen

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Form or forms the correspondence can be generated from.
  • How to use it: Enter the text.



Turn-around Document

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Identifies whether the recipient of the communication needs to reply to it.
  • How to use it: Click to check or uncheck.



Form Template

  • Location: Communication Template Definition panel.
  • What it does: Identifies whether the template record is for a form that the recipient must fill out and return.
  • How to use it: Click to check or uncheck.
