The design of the generated report comes from the report's rdlc file. However, the application displays all reports with the same layout. At the top of the screen, there is a Reports panel. Under the Reports panel, the application displays the generated report.
The Reports panel includes the following controls:
- Report selection drop down: This drop down contains all the reports that share the same category.
- Generation button: This comes from the framework and is not configurable.
- Report parameters: These come from the query or method the report uses to populate its dataset, plus the following default parameters:
- RequestedBy
- ExecutionDate
- ReportTitle
The generated report includes functionality to:
- Navigate to other pages if the dataset is large.
- Change the text size.
- Find text.
- Save as an Excel, PDF, or Word file.
- Refresh the report.
- Print the report, including to imaging services like Document Writer.
All this functionality comes from the framework and is not configurable.
